Choose Tony Stewart’s Ride – M36 Army Tank or Mobil 1 Drift Camaro

Last year, fans decided to have Tony Stewart switch rides with Lewis Hamilton, and take his McLaren Formula 1 Car for a few laps. This year Mobil 1 decided to make the Choose Tony’s Ride competition a little more interesting. They threw in two awesome GM performance cars, as well as two not so performance related vehicles to shake things up a bit.

The contenders were a Bondurant LS3 powered Corvette Grand Sport, the Mobil 1 Formula Drift Camaro, a World War II Era Tank, and (…ready for this?) – a Chevy Astro Van. In the first round the tank crushed the Astro Van (not litterally,of course), and in round two the Camaro handily beat out the Grand Sport. Now, we’ve commenced the third and final round of voting to determine which of these two vehicles Stewart will have to step out of his comfort zone to pilot for our entertainment.

Here’s the specs on each of the finalists:

M36 GMC Jackson Tank

750 horsepower 12 cylinder diesel engine
Weighs 32 tons
14 wheels
Carries 192 gallons of fuel

Mobil 1 Formula Drift Camaro

650 horsepower 427ci LS7
Weighs 2,900 pounds
4 wheels
Carries just 19 gallons of fuel

Naturally, you would think we’d be rooting for the LS7 powered Camaro, (it does a have a decent power-to-weight advantage) but we’re kind of interested to see just what will happen with Stewart behind the controls of that 64,000 pound tank.
